Monthly Lecture Series

The Society offers a monthly program of historical lectures from February to November inclusive. The lectures are held on the third Monday of the month at the Society’s rooms, 49 Lindsay St, Toowoomba, starting at 7.30pm, unless otherwise indicated. The lectures are open to non-members. Supper is served. Summaries of the lectures are published in the Society’s monthly newsletter. The 2012 series is as follows:

The 2012 exhibition has yet to be arranged.

Tombstone Tours

The Society offers a number of tours of the Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery throughout the year. In 2012 the tour theme is 'Amazing Stories: Innovation & Invention'.
The tour leader is Peter Cullen.
Tickets are available at the Toowoomba City Local History Library in Ruthven Street. Tours are open to members of the public unless otherwise stated. Participants should gather at the cemetery five minutes prior to each tour’s starting time. Please note there will be no night tours in 2012.

2012 tour dates are:

Sunday, 6 May at 10am
Saturday, 12 May at 10am

Sunday, 16 September at 10am
Saturday, 22 September at 10am

Carnival of Flowers Week

The Society conducts a stall in the grounds of its premises on the edge of Queen’s Park Gardens during Carnival week, 14-23 September 2012. Refreshments are available to all members of the public. Tour parties are welcome.
